With deep sadness, we share the heart-wrenching story of Hafez Jasim Uddin, a 40-year-old devoted father, husband, and the sole provider for his family. On July 18th, 2024, Jasim, who stood bravely for his beliefs, was brutally attacked by police in Uttara, Dhaka. Multiple rubber bullets struck Jasim during the assault, leading to his untimely and heartbreaking death. Jasim leaves behind his wife and two young children, who now face immense hardship without his support. We mourn the loss of Jasim and pay tribute to his courage and bravery.
Originally from Barisal, Jasim was a dedicated worker at an automobile workshop in Uttara. He bore the responsibility of providing for his family and ensuring a better future for his two young children. His eldest daughter is just 10 years old, and his youngest son is only 18 months old. Jasim’s sudden death has placed a heavy burden on his grieving wife, Sumi Akhter, who now faces an uncertain and challenging future. The immediate needs of Jasim's family include financial support to cover basic living expenses such as rent, food, and utilities. Additionally, funds are urgently required to ensure his children can continue their education without interruption. Sumi also needs emotional and professional support to navigate this difficult time and to find a way to provide for her family.
Jasim's death has left a void that cannot be filled. His loved ones now suffer not only immense emotional pain but also severe financial hardship. The family urgently needs support to cover basic necessities and to ensure the children's education and well-being.
