With heavy hearts, we share the tragic story of Hasib Dhali, a 17-year-old boy from Madaripur, whose life was cut short in a devastating incident on August 5th, 2024. Hasib, a laborer from a poor, struggling family, had stepped up to support his loved ones after losing his mother at a young age. His selflessness and sense of responsibility were remarkable for someone so young. But on that fateful day, Hasib was caught in a police firing incident while working in Jatrabari. He was struck in the head and rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, where, despite fighting for his life, he tragically passed away two days later on August 7th, 2024.
The Impact of Hasib’s Loss:
Hasib’s death has left his family in unimaginable pain. His father, Delwar Dhali, has been left paralyzed after suffering a stroke upon hearing the devastating news of his son’s passing. The family, already living in extreme poverty, now faces even greater hardship. Hasib had been the sole provider for his family after the loss of his mother, taking on responsibilities far beyond his years. Now, with his sudden and heartbreaking death, the family is left in a state of utter despair.
They have lost not only a son but also the only source of support and hope. Hasib’s father is now unable to work, leaving the family with no means to cover their basic needs such as food, shelter, and medical expenses. This is a time of deep grief and overwhelming uncertainty for the Dhali family.
