Urgent Help Needed: Support Md Julfikar Ali's Recovery and Future
Victim's Picture: Md Julfikar Ali
Cause of injury: Julfikar sustained injuries from tear gas canisters fired by the police to disperse protesters. The damage to his eyes was severe and required immediate medical attention.
A police crackdown during the protests on July 18, 2024, tragically injured Md Julfikar Ali, a bright student of class X at Nawab Habibullah Model School. In a moment of youthful conviction, Julfikar joined the movement but was found in critical condition in the hospital's intensive care unit six days later. In the aftermath of his injury, his eyes were severely damaged, and he was transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, for further treatment. Julfikar's injury was caused by the tear gas canisters fired by the police to disperse the protesters, and the damage to his eyes was severe enough to require immediate medical attention. If not treated promptly, his injuries could lead to long-term vision loss or even blindness in his left eye.
It is difficult for Julfikar's family to cope with the aftermath of this tragedy. His father, Md Mosharraf Hussain, is a security guard for the community police, while his mother, Mocha Maryam Bibi, is a housewife. Julfikar’s medical care has put an unbearable burden on the family, who are already facing financial difficulties. In addition to supporting both sons, his elder brother, Jobair Hossain, is currently preparing for his HSC exams.
In spite of receiving initial treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, Julfikar will still require intensive care for more than three months in order to prevent his left eye from completely losing its sight. Despite their best efforts, his family cannot afford the expensive medical treatment he needs to recover.
The family of Julfikar faces insurmountable financial challenges. His father's modest income as a security guard cannot pay for the sophisticated treatment needed to restore his son's vision. Since the family already lives with limited means, Julfikar's recovery is urgently in need of external support.
Our humble request is for you to assist us in helping this young student with his illnesses and ensure a brighter future without the lifelong disability of blindness. Each and every contribution makes a difference and will be a lifeline to the family. As a result of your generosity, not only will Julfikar's vision be preserved, but also the hope of a family that has been devastated by this tragic event will be restored. Your support is like a lighthouse in the dark, guiding the family in the right direction during these difficult times.

Thank you for your kindness and for standing with Julfikar and his family in this critical time.
